Synopsis

Product Description
Born in the same New Brunswick, NJ basements that spawned bands like LIFETIME, THURSDAY, and THE BOUNCING SOULS, but as much as these punk and hardcore luminaries may be what made their town famous, SCREAM HELLO are more influenced by the scene that they sprang from then the bands themselves. SCREAM HELLO just as easily invoke theÊghosts of bands like PURPOSE, YOU AND I, and STICKS AND STONES,Êknowing that their roots and ties to their scene, and the history of it, are what make them unique.ÊAs a band that refused to put out a CD until they had toured the country supported only by a 7", they show their roots in both the passion and heart they put into their songs, and the feeling when you hear them that they are from another era. The obvious comparisons to the post hardcore bands of the lateÊ'90s and the Chapel Hill era bands of the mid-90s can be deceptive. SCREAM HELLO's willingness to draw on the energy of their hardcore past play as much a part in their music as their complex narratives and amazing hooks. This band continues to grow, challenge itself, and break boundaries. 2008 will see them release a new EP, full length, and various tracks for compilations and 7"s, but the 8 songs on The Infinite SonÊareÊan excellent starting point if you are ready to be transported back to a time when people were still excited by the ways you could breakdown and pull apart punk rock. I can remember the first time I heard this records as easily as the first time I heard SUPERCHUNK, LIFETIME, or THE PIXIES, it just brings you back to those moments.
