"What a tasty little compilation we have here, courtesy of Ultra Records and Timo Maas. Ok, so I slight Scott Henry, but he does take a second billing to the Man Who Would Be King, Maas, and the label that managed to snag some of the hottest hits ripping up floors and get them onto disc first. And they're damn proud of it, too, pushing them in your face immediately: the echo dirtiness of that irrepressible techno star Green Velvet (say it with me, "Cameras ready, prepare to flash!") and the buzziest track of them all, Josh Wink's "How's You Evening So Far." Which, to be honest, loses it's magic outside of a club.Elsewhere the album adopts the tone of ubiquitous remixer Maas- tough and twisted tech/trance. There's the mandatory inclusion of Pascal F.E.O.S.'s warped wonder "Overflow," on it's 258th set so far (only a slight exaggeration), Oliver Lieb and Smoked's banging "Metro" and KillaHurtz's "West on 27th" punctuating the trance finale.Henry does an expert job mixing this into a smooth package. The song selection isn't flawless- the Electronica Medal of Valor will be awarded to those who get through even half of "Don't Laugh" - and a few more of the fifteen are questionable, but it still beats99% of the big track comps out there. And sometimes, you just want the hits. Grade: B+ (B for frequent music shoppers)"
