CD Reviews

Pure Ballad Instinct!!!!
ScorpionSting | Oss, The Netherlands | 04/02/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"In the other reviews they said this was an album with too much ballads. I agree, and if Herman Rarebell didn't left the band, this was never happened. But that much ballads doesn't make it boring, does it? 'Wild Child' is a nice rocker, but 'Stone In My Shoe' is wonderful, I love 'Tim Will Call Your Name', and 'But The Best For You' is the best for you. :D. 'Does Anyone know' is just boring and makes me sleep. 'Soul behind The Face' is very nice to hear, and 'Oh Girl (i wanna be with you)' is really nice as well. 'When You Came into My Life' is average, and 'Where the river flows' is worth the title of boring ballad. 'You And I' is not ugly, but it ain't super, it's average. And last and the absolute least: 'Are You the One?'. Where are the electric guitars on the last song? Klaus Meine better wrote this one on Acoustica!! But this is a pretty good POP album.

Keep On ROCKing, not Popping!"
Pure Instinct: Sounds of an era of Scorpions creativity
ScorpionSting | 06/23/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

""Pure Instinct" is the Scorpions best album of music since "Love at First Sting" was released in 1984. The album is strong in that it is full of songs that sound like different times in their twenty-five year career. Songs like "Where the River Flows" and "Time Will Call Your Name" have a flavor of the Uli Roth/Michael Schenker era. Songs like "Wild Child" and "Girl I want to be with You" have a flavor of their 1980's sound. While songs like "Does Anyone Know" and "Stone Inside my Shoe" exhibit their ability to establish new boundaries in their creativity."
A really GREAT album

"I would say this is probably the Scorpions best studio album. The Song Wild Child is the best song in there. "But the best for you" is another great song. Does anyone know is more soft and emotional, so is "When you came into my life". You and I is the 2nd best song in that album. If you are a Scorpions fan, starting fan or long time fan, you should get this album."
