CD Reviews

Scissorfight - A new style of Rock

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Scissorfight is not your average Rock band. They're far better. Hailing from New Hampshire, you can hear the wilderness in their music. Ironlung's vocals help to accentuate their backwoods style of music. They are a very powerful band, and a musical force to be reckoned with. This was the first CD of theirs I bought. Most songs on the CD are great, with a few that drop into the realm of only good. Their balls to the wall attitude is what makes their music so good. I feel that they are better than most other bands that I have heard in a long time. I would not be suprised if they hit it big someday. Untill then, buy this CD."

"im not a fan of heavy metal, most of my music is much more serene indie rock, but this is by far one of my favourite albums and one of the best of 2001. Not because it's as soft as indie rock, god no, its as loud as deadly as any heavy metal, but the songs are just brilliance. This band makes me fear the wilderness more than ever before, 'Ironlung's vocals being so disturbing, the beat pulversing any reservations you might've had about the band and the riffs just destroying all your preconceptions about heavy metal not being able to deliver great melodies. All songs deserve a 5 star rating but the best songs for me are 'New Hampshire...', 'Blizzards...' and 'Candy Clark'. Get hold of this record, venture into the wild in a beaten old 4x4 and you'l be forever screaming 'candy...candy..CANDY!!!'"
