Another OAKLAND band that kicks your...

"If rumbling crunchy riff-laden metal is your thing, you MUST get this release. The vinyl comes with a download code, so if you have a turntable I would definitely go that way, as the cover art is great to zone out to while listening to the barrage of metal tearing up your speakers.

Saviours provide further proof that the underground metal scene in Oakland is the place to be!"
Only a 'corporate rocker' wouldn't like this

"are you wearing khaki pants? a bluetooth? are you driving a bmw convertible listening to motley crue? if so this album isn't for you. but then again, saviours aren't a corporate rocker kind of band. the relentless pummeling of their devastating riffs would be enough to scare away any douche bag corporate rocker. saw and met these guys in birmingham-- greatest show ever. a great group of guys. accelerated living is just another bad ass offering from one of metal's best bands. the love and respect the saviours have for this genre oozes out of every track. suck it corporate rockers!!!"
Seriously heavy rock

"2009's Accelerated Living is the third full-length from Bay Area hard rock/metal band Saviours, one of the newer bands - High on Fire and The Sword are others - carrying the heavy rock torch into the new era.

Saviours have a sound that's somewhere between doom metal and stoner rock. There are some heavy Sabbath-style riffing, a solid sense of groove, the song structures are pretty metallic, and there's a punk/thrash/hardcore feel as well. The guitar work - especially the crushing rhythms - is the album's highlight, and the vocals are the weakest link. Mostly shouted and barely sung, they're a distraction from what is an otherwise impressive heavy rock album. The general lack of melody also bothers me, as that is one of the first things I look for in a metal album.

It's not exactly my style, but I can totally see an album like Accelerated Living appealing to a good cross-section of rock and metal fans. If you're into doom metal, stoner rock, thrash or just hard rock in general and aren't looking for something too polished or melodic, you'll want to give Saviours a try."
