Synopsis

Album Description
Quick and to the point, Sasquatch is about as close as Small Stone is going to get to signing a local band from right here in the Motor City (hey, two out of three members ain?t bad). But make no mistake: this is no watered down MTV-friendly garage rock band. Our boys from Sasquatch eat, drink, and breathe rock?n?roll. From the top of their Mojave stacks to the toes of their electro harmonix pedals, these three down-to-earth guys simply love to rock ? and they do it with a sincerity not often seen in today?s world of plastic pop and gimmicky garage. Formed in Los Angeles back in 2001 by Philadelphia transplant Keith Gibbs and Detroit natives Rick Ferrante and Clayton Charles, Sasquatch has had the pleasure of refining their own brand of super heavy, bone crunching rock?n?roll onstage with some of LA?s finest, including Fireball Ministry, Nebula and Unida. Drawing on influences from ?70s metal, rock and psychedelia, their songwriting approach is simple, relying on the theories of feel and technique, a sorely missed aspect of most modern day rock amalgamations. But don?t let their technique fool you; tight as they may be, the kid gloves come off when they play. Just ask any of the folks who were down in Austin earlier this year at SXSW 2004: Sasquatch handed the crowd at the Room 710 its? inebriated ass on a platter. When you finally get a chance to see the band live, you will fully comprehend what we are talking about. Make no mistake, the name Sasquatch fits these simple Midwestern boys: the songs are big, the guitar solos are hairy and their debut is comin? screaming out of the forest in late summer 2004. The band will hit the road this fall, most likely making an appearance at this year?s CMJ Music Marathon. Get your cameras ready and prepare for Sasquatch.

CD Reviews

Great band,...love 'em
A. Loeber | Dayville, CT | 08/14/2007

"I really like this band. They have that heavy down-tuned guitar sound, along with excellent sound production quality. The album moves along at a nice pace. Nothing too slow, nor too fast. I get a good sense of energy from this band, in which a lot of newer bands do NOT give me. Sasquatch has a great vocalist. This guy can really sing. He has a good rasp to his voice, but not overdone. He also sports a nice set of lungs. I hate categorizing bands, but this band can fall under grunge with a hint of doom. Sort of an up-beat doom album with powerful, no-nonsense vocals. The band is REALLY tight, and is a band for the more serious music fan, who doesn't need a gimmick to lure them in. This band is NOT gimmicky, nor do they need to be. They are a straight forward, in your face, hard rockin' band. Fans of Kyuss, Earthride, Goatsnake should enjoy this. Great band, Love 'em. -I also purchased their 2nd album, titled: "II" - It's Just as good."
Awesome....

"Sasquatch...simply...rocks. Fueled by an obvious love for vintage Sabbath, the band absolutely tears it up in this incredibly heavey sludgefest. Excellent production too."
Man...these guys are awesome!!!

"Until about six months ago I had never even heard of these guys. Now I have all of the material that they have out and I want more! If you like these guys try Hermano and Kyuss, they both rock. Sasquatch is straight forward grungy heavy rock. I can't believe I haven't heard of them all of this time. Oh, wait...yeah I can, I live in Oklahoma. Hell would just freeze completly over before they play this music on the radio in this state! You like to ROCK!!!? Then give these guys a try."
