Album Description "An amazing display of a brilliant mind at work." - PITCHFORKMEDIA "Post-digital, post-industrial psychedelia." - THE WIRE "Limitless in its possibilities." - ROLLING STONE "[From] straight-ahead bop cornetist to avant-garde electronic conceptualist." - SUNDAY HERALD Spawned from the pink sulfur skies of Sao Paulo, this project is the combined work of artists Rob Mazurek (Mandarin Movie, Isotope 217, Chicago Underground) and Mauricio Takara (Hurtmold, M. Takara), whose music embraces modern electronics, dub, free samba, rock, jazz and maracatu. The album's opening track recalls the hazy electronic soundscapes of Fennesz's "Endless Summer," while its ending presents the unclassifiable sound construction of Tiago Mesquita's words and futuristic phantom carnival melodies. Sandwiched between are five diverse, texturally rich tracks covering a variety of sonic palettes. Recorded from August to November 2005 at Rocha Studios in Sao Paulo, the group's debut release features contributions from Sao Paulo's vibrant music community: Hurtmold, Marcos Axe, Tiago Mesquita, Wayne Montana & Damon Locks (both of The Eternals), Josh Abrams (Town & Country) and Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground).
