"this right here is the only sam cooke compilation that actually matters, the only compilation that actually gets it right. because when other companies put out a sam cooke compilation, 1 or more songs get left off in the mix that would have made that cd a perfect set, not this one......this cd came out in 1986, and has only gotten better over the years. all of sam's phases are covered, with a couple of gospel tunes from his days with the soul stirrers, and tunes from his different labels. and when you put the cd on, you just want to let it play out until the end, when it reaches its dramatic climax with one of sam's signature tunes, "a change is gonna come". if you are a sam cooke lover or somebody who is looking to start somewhere in buying a sam cooke cd, 'the man and his music" is an A+ plus choice for you musical pleasure!"
