Post-bop tenor saxophonist and flutist Salim Washington leads the Harlem Watts Ensemble in sizes ranging from eight to twelve pieces on Harlem Homecoming, that show the influence of Coltrane's Africa Brass bands. Eight of the ten compositions are by Salim and vary from beautiful ballads to driving hard bop funk. Musicians include: pianist Donald Smith, trombonist Frank Lacy, trumpeter Waldron Ricks, and woodwindist Henry Cook.
