CD Reviews

Like Going to a Great Club and Afterhours but in Reverse !!

""The greatly anticipated 2nd release from S&P is finally here and whoooo baby....right outta the box this one is hot !! Saeed and Palash expand their range on this one by introducing some funky beats in addition to their mainstay of deep, dark, tribal house !! The 2 cd set is very reminiscent of the feel you get at the club and at afterhours....but in a twist that would make Quinten Tarantino proud....you go through it in reverse order !!CD 1 - Saeed starts off with a cool splashy vocal dub that invites everyone back to a party at someone's house in "Main Event"...very afterhours flavor, with the sun coming up over Miami (or at your favorite hangout). Songs 2 and 3 kinda stall a little but then the party song of the year drops in....."Phat, Dope, Sh#%"...this song is absolutely CRAZY....funky, boppin' sexy....this brit vocal track tells a story of a guy waking up and diving back into the party.....and the beat is insane !!! You'll love the words and the beats....you won't stop playing this one !! Anyone that's been to a Patio Session or an outside sunny afterhours set knows the feel.....hands in the air, standing under the smoke machine for relief...ahhhhhhh !! Saeed maintains a good groove....dropping in his mainstay tribal tracks throughout but this cd keeps a sunny happy skinny boppin beat throughout...this is one of the best renditions of a Miami afterhours set I've ever heard on a "commercial" cd !! Great fun !!CD 2 - Palash's set takes you back inside to the dark room...the main dance floor of the club.....and he doesn't even let your eyes get adjusted before he rips the roof off !! Tracks 1-4 are some of the best mixed deep dark hard house tunes even sewn together !!! Hooo Haaa.....If you like it hard....then Palash is servin' up a titanium blend that will get you boucing. This mix really pulls from his native Middle Eastern roots.....my only wish was that there were more tracks like #1.......its got a hard cerebral Moraccan feel to it....with the lush sultry female chant-wail that is distinctive to the region...so good it will give you goosebumps !!! Palash also serves up the S&P standard tribal but this cd is darker than its counterpart...and goes for a more nighttime feel of a club !! Addictive Beats showcases some of the best in house music today and surprisingly covers a wide range of flavors....from funky to primal tribal and back to hard house. There are a few tunes that drag on a bit on both cds but overall the standout tracks: "phat, dope, sh#*" , "prophesy", "2 stoned riders" and others more than make up for this !! This cd is fantastic for after-after hours, bouncin' with your friends, and cruising around !!! Worthy of my finest 5 lollie rating !!!"

"Being someone a little more accustomed to the Steve Lawler style of Tribal, I wasn't prepared for the onslaught these two had to offer. The tracks almost seem like they were spat out by some demon with acidic saliva. Not that that's a bad thing. Saeed & Palash have taken Tribal to a whole new level, and upped the ante for any other DJ's of similar style out there. Where Lawler is dark, they're harsh. Where Lawler is dirty, they're techy. Their sets sounds like a set by Lawler told to go play in the mud all afternoon. And it couldn't be more right. These CD's are definately staying in my collection."
Simply Excellent

"I bet all the people who rated this cd loved it from the first listen. This is one of those few cds that as soon as you put them on you cant stop grinning and thinking your money was very well spent. On another note i wanted also to agree with one of the other reviewers that said he couldn't stand people comparing these guys with Deep Dish. Their sounds are completely different, and Saeed & Palash are a little more tribal than Deep Dish."
