In the mid 90's Sweden's Sacramentum along with such prolific acts as Dissection & Dark Tranquillity forged a unique sound uniting the impact and technical diversity of death metal with the raw darkness of black metal and haunting guitar melodies. The rather short-lived Sacramentum released two masterly examples of this new breed of extreme metal with with 1997's 'The Coming Of Chaos' and 1999's 'Thy Black Destiny'.
