"This CD premieres the complete original sound track (OST) score for the 1960 film THE TIME MACHINE (TTM). The score is presented in stereo with monaural sound effects. Surprisingly, the latter embellish to the former. Maybe it's not that surprising after all, since the composer, Russell Garcia, created many of the effects! The CD contains Garcia's complete score for TTM. Never heard of Mr. Garcia? Me neither. Apparently just about all his compositions (including those while at Universal) have gone uncredited. This is a limited-edition release presented by the noted print/pixel publication, FILM SCORE MONTHLY / ONLINE. TTM's score is really hard to forget. It stays in your head ready to re-launch whenever you think about the film. If this isn't the hallmark of a totally superior film score, I don't know what is! For those who have seen the film, you will have little difficulty re-envisioning scenes when you play cues on the disc. The CD booklet is outstanding. It's written by two of FILM SCORE MONTHLY's principals, Jeff Bond and Lukas Kendall (Mr. Kendall also produced the CD). Typical of all FILM SCORE MONTHLY OST releases, it is extremely rich in researched information and photographs. A classic score for a classic film. Highly recommended. (Since there a several CDs with the same name, let me be crystal clear about the CD to which I am referring. It was released this year (2005) as: "Russell Garcia - The Time Machine, FSM Vol. 8 No. 13.")
