Roy & Dale were my heros as a kid and I love cowboy music. This CD is quite nostalgic for me.

When I was a youngster, Roy Rogers was my hero. I went to all of his movies at the local movie house on Saturday Afternoon. Back then I didn't like musical interludes in my movies. Some fifty years later I got this CD. Roy was 80 years old when it was made and his pipes are incredible. I used to hate yodeling... but Roy makes me just wait for the yodeling interludes. My favorite cut is "When Pay Day Rolls Around" because I just love the brief yodeling parts. I'd never part with this if I didn't have the song on my Ipod.

"Roy Rogers Tribute

I feel that this is the best tribute album ever made! Yes, I grew up watching Roy Rogers & Dale Evans movies & on television. Roy helped make my days livable. A father type figure that served as a good example to an abused (physically & otherwise) young boy back in the 50s. I remember all these songs very well. This is honestly the first CD that I ever purchased. I didn't think that a person could wear out a CD, but I have done so. lol. Looking for a replacement CD brought me to Amazon. The singers that perform on this CD with Mr. Rogers do a bang, bang shoot-'em-up job! They don't try to change the songs to their stylings. They are along for the ride with Roy & Dale. This is my all-time favorite CD. And that's going some! I see that someone is asking over $260.00 for a new copy of this Tribute Album! They should be ashamed to try to gouge the public for a treasure that belongs to the common folk who are entitled to share this treasure. Oh well, this is the land of opportunity & capitalism. I hope that it doesn't sell at that ridiculously high price. IMHO it should be opened to public domain. I am hoping to be able to afford to purchase even a previously used copy soon. Now that I have had my say on the soapbox, I hope that all of you have a blessed holiday season. Love, Papa Larry h"
