CD Reviews

Funk-a-delic 70' soundtrack!
Tuco | Phoenix, Az USA | 12/28/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you're into classic 70's soundtracks in the style of Enter the Dragon, Dirty Harry or The Omega Man, do not hesitate to order this Roy Budd funky 70's classic. I can't seem to get this one out of my CD player!! From beginning to end it is loaded with what was great about 70's soundtracks - funky bass lines, tingling suspense and memorable themes.

The Castle Music/cinephile release (w/photo on cover)includes liner notes, pictures from the film and it is re-mastered and sounds EXCELLENT! Not sure what the older Intermezzo release (w/painting of Bronson on cover)includes.

To quote Bronson from the film, it's "better than a sharp stick in the eye." Now if we could only get the movie on DVD...."
Great Soundtrack! Funky/Creepy 70's Classic
Tuco | 06/22/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This one is a keeper -- right up there with The Omega Man. Budd weaves a funky, Rhodes-piano brew of heady jazz-inflected funk grooves....put it on while driving and you are in your own 70s' paranoid crime drama. If you like 70's blaxploitation soundtracks, this one has it all, only done with slightly more professionalism and style. Highly recommended."
