Album DescriptionWilliam Pint and Felicia Dale, of Seattle, are known for their innovative approach to music of the sea. Round The Corner, their third CD, moves toward Celtic rock, Dale's hurdy-gurdy droning maniacally, Pint cutting loose terrific vocals on "Sugar In The Hold" and "The Sailboat Malarky," Felicia singing in her mother's native French on "Marguerite" and the duo waxing reflective on the C. Fox Smith poems "Tryphina's Extra Hand" and "Blue Peter." Bob Zentz' setting of Kipling's poem about seal-killings - from the seals' point of view - records humanity's tragic idiocy in the face of nature's glory; written at the end of the last century, it hits with unmistakeable force. Musicians: Mike Freeman, Sean Sharp & Jarrod Kaplan, percussion; Curtis Lloyd, kit drums; Tania Opland; violin & vocals; David Pascal; bass guitar; Anna Peekstock, didgeridoo; John Peekstock, keyboards; and Nancy Wharton, cello. WP, acoustic & electric guitars, mandola, mandolin, FD, hurdy-gurdy, whistles.
