Synopsis

Album Description
This 2003 Grammy Contender in the Pop Vocal category is thick with rich vocal harmonies of the three Vick siblings: Ross, Karen and Pat. This first CD effort has been duly recognized for its powerful vocal and instrumental arrangements. Lyrical reminders of loves lost, found and treasured abound on this collection and it serves to remind one that life can indeed be quite sweet if taken "One by One". Guest artist Allan Pollard offers a soulful interpretation of the smoky ballad, "I Loved You Once in a Lifetime". There is something for everyone on this collection and the electrifying guitar solo performed by Sam Swank on "You're The One I'm Thinking Of" will have you cranking up the volume. You and your kids are likely to find a favorite on this new gem.

CD Reviews

One foot in the past, one foot in the future

"This record is awesome. It reminds me of the "classic" 70's vocal rock bands ala C,S,N&Y or America. The songs sound worn in and comfortable like an old pair of jeans but offer a lot of surprises as well. Rockers, country, ballads, three part harmony singing, and great pop songs you can't help but hum to yourself after listening. I think this record would probably appeal to the late 20's or over crowd because it's a lot more sophisticated than anything else on the radio or in the stores. The opening track,"Don't you remember" is haunting, touching and beautiful all at the same time. This song is a great example of a song sounding "classic" but the production and arrangement is definitly of today. Many of the songs have a tinge of country flavor(Rearranged and changin', You're the one I'm thinking of, Friend for life) while still in the rock genre. Vick's influences are many and you can hear the love of the Beatles, Beach Boys, C,S,N&Y, and the more mellow jazz flavors of Kenny Rankin or Michael Franks. There is a lot of different styles here but I think that's what makes it so enjoyable. So many disc's these days are so one dimensional that you really only have to buy(or download-"rip-off") the single because every other song sounds the same. Not so here. You get many flavors that still end up sounding cohesive, much like a great chef will have many different flavors and textures in his or her cooking but still create something unique and original. I think Ross Vick does that here.
If you are into heavy metal or polka music, don't bother. But if you are a fan of the pop song, run(or click that mouse) to get this CD!"
Horray for good music!

"This album is really awesome. It is low key and is extremely relaxing to listen to. If you want music that will make you fall in love all over again, this is one I would recommend. My boyfriend and I already have "Don't You Remember" as one of "our" songs. Hope you guys enjoy!"
