Synopsis

Album Description
ROSEWYNDE flute and harp duo announces the release of their second CD DISTANT AYRES. For immediate release from SUNRIDGE STUDIOS, August 2002. Kathryn Cater, harp and Sandy Duffy Norman, flute present an elegant offering of artistry with the bold, emotional, and creative interpretations that brings only pleasure from beginning to end in their second CD, Distant Ayres. These deeply touching arrangements of familiar Celtic and Folk tunes transport the listener back to the days of childhood gardens and mates and the nostalgic feel of summertime picnics with the family. Distant Ayres can not be defined by only one genre, but combines fresh traditional arrangements and the classical sounds of Claude Debussy, Morten Lauridsen, and John Rutter, as well as original works by the duo. Thank you to all of the people who have promoted and purchased our music. RoseWynde appreciates your support with their musical endeavors. Distant Ayres and Walking Tune can be purchased at Amazon.com, Flute World, Carolyn Nussbaum Music, and by contacting us directly. "...and purchase this album! This is one of the most beautiful CDs I've ever heard. I originally discovered RoseWynde on Amazon's free downloads, and I encourage the reader to do the same. I think once you've heard just one of RoseWynde's songs, you'll want them all. The instruments blend perfectly, and evoke a sense of tranquility and greater story than I could ever hope to describe in one short review.

This album makes for the perfect calm ending to an otherwise stressful day..."

"Relaxing, yet with sparkle, these musicians display warmth and complete control of their instruments. Distant Ayres has a beauty and depth that will allow enjoyable listening for many years to come. The perfect soundtrack for work or after work.
Even my grandmother loves it!"
Worth the trouble of buying.

"OK, I have to ship the CDs in from the USA because they are not available locally, but they are worth the trouble .. I have actually downloaded most fo the tracks (for free), but I listen to them enough to feel obliged to support the artist(s) by buying them.

Good tunes, well played, and 10 times better for relaxing to than those 'chill out' CDs that the TV ads are always trying to sell you ('not available in shops' .. OK, this one isn't available in shops either).

If you actually enjoy Rosewynde, check out 'Winter Ayres' too, which the clowns at Amazon have listed under 'classical music', with the artist 'various' .. however a search for 'winter ayres' will find it; And (at long last) you can actually download a few tracks from that one too."
