CD Reviews

Pass the crackpipe.

"I have no idea what these other reviewers are thinking, but this album rocks. The songs lack melodies? I've listened to the thing a fair amount -- probably ten times -- and I can _easily_ hum the melodies to most of the tracks. they're good, too... some are _very_ good. lyrics are, on the whole, above average. catchy, original, not at all shallow or cliched. some really cool imagery in some of them that strikes me each time I listen to the songs."13 Days of Daisy" is a superb track, and I really really like "Strange Days" and "New York Rain" as well. this isn't to say the rest of the album is unremarkable... I like most all of the tracks very much, and there is not a single one I'd rate "below average," which (for me) is very very rare for an album.if you're a hardcore country fan, I don't know if this album will be for you, even if you liked her previous stuff... then buy this thing."
A genre switch for Ms Reeves...

"Ronna, formerly known in Nashville as Ronna Reeves, abandoned the country fold to record this her first "pop" album. The vocal inflections aren't much changed from her country records. It's hard to figure why this woman wasn't able to connect with country radio since she has the voice and "the look." Ronna takes songwriting credits on most of the cuts. "13 Days of Daisy" deserves to be a smash, but Ronna's fate at pop will probably not improve on her country showing unless River North gets behind this with some serious promo. Incidentally, Peter Cetera produces. (Thankfully, he doesn't sing)."
From country to pop

"I am a big fan of Ronnas since 1992. I have all of her albums. When I first heard that she was doing a pop album I was like cool and I hope she comes back to country. But when I heard that this was what she was going to do from now on I was a little sadden. But I really enjoy this album. I love "New York Rain." I do like all the songs on here. It is awesome that Ronna has still decided to sing. I will still be a fan of hers no matter what kind of music she does. Too bad this one didnt get recognized. Ronna deserves to be heard!"
