CD Reviews

Wonderful voice and introduction to old style Irish singing!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD is the only one from Roisin, and if you are afraid of dipping your toes into the Irish language singing style, this is the best place to start.

Not only does Roisin have an angelic voice, but her unaccompanied tracks are clearly sung, and her voice floats over the ornaments smoothly and sweetly. The accompanied songs, although all in Irish except one in English, range from lively to mello, and also provide the non-native speaker with a rest from the unaccompanied "sean-nos" style. The usual Irish traditional instruments are used wonderfully, in a very easy-to-listen-to style (flute, button-box, whistle, etc.).

Not that there's a reason to rest---join the genre with this CD and you'll be singing along in not time!"
