CD Reviews

She's bringing it on

"Buy it just for track 3, work that body.

An excelent album, not the style I would expect from G-stone, but funkier, smoother. A must for fans of naked music, chilled house/funk/downtempo."
Surprise me!

"From an intersting label (G-STONE RECORDS) is coming out a big surprise.

Yes Hunter Files could be the CD of year!

Who is Rodney Hunter? I really don't know, but he is an artist that in his life have done a lot with funky and soul music.

Infact this CD is always in equlibre between the old r&b and the new funky (with a good taste of electronics sounds).

All the tracks are ok with particular personal sounds and a strong voice.

Starting from Electric Lady the sounds coming into old and new passing to funk-latino (Quero Saber)to a tribal reggae (Take a ride..special in the secoond version).

But also when the sound become too easy (Is this your boy)the resoult are perfect.

A cd for bars, shops, cars, party but never alone and always with a drink.

Good Rodney i like your Files...a Hunter Files.

I suggest also the new of JAZZANOVA - MIXING also here you will find good music for sure."

"I discovered Rodney Hunter on the Hotel Costes series. All I can say is--This man is BAD!!!!!!!!!!! Hunter Files grooves from beginning to end with relentless grooves, smoooove vocals and excellent production. The man does it all save a the vocals, and that's cool cuz cats like Ken Cesar and Hubert Tubbs do an outstanding job singing over Hunter's super-funky @$$ bass lines. Hunter Files can be thrown on at your next house party, but I've also found it strangely relaxing at night while I'm chillin'. Stand out tracks are the throbbin' "Work That Body" and "Let Your Soul Guide Your Heart"...the reggae infused "Find It"... and the neo-funky "Is This Your Boy". These are personal faves of course, but take my word for it the whole set is tight as #*!! Rodney Hunter is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. Highly Recommended!!!"
