"Duke Robillard, Michael Hill, Sax Gorden, Doug James, Tony Coleman, a great bunch of new players, and one of the few vocalist in the crop of new blues singing stars who isn't afraid NOT to scream! This is the real deal, grab it so you can tell your blues lover friends that YOU discovered Robert Charels : )"
One of the best of 2000

"Duke Robillard produced this CD, and fans of Duke or anyone else who loves upbeat, ultra-hot blue music should love this a lot. Duke plays on it, and so do some hot guests like Micheal Hill, Tony Coleman and Sax Gordon. Honestly, there isn't a bad moment on this CD and Robert Charles is a GREAT blues singer."
Really Cool Stuff

"This CD is really nice, unpretentious, rocking blues for mature listeners. Cool as heck and cheap at twice the price. Fans of Michael Hill and Duke Robillard will really like this"

"I really loved Robert Charels' previous release "Deception In Your Eyes". I am always a little nervous about the next CD, thinking it couldn't be as good as the first, but Robert Charels does not disapoint! The originals are a great combination of funk and blues & the covers are obscure enough for you not to care. They all sound fresh.Mr. Charels voice is as strong and rich as ever & the level of musicianship of players like Duke Robillard, Michael Hill as well as the original band members is just fantastic."
Unknown but amazing

"I personally think this singer is the next Eva Cassidy (in terms of being an unknown who will soon be famous): Totally unheard of, but with a style and voice that is all his own. I don't know what's happened to Robert Charles since this CD came out, but even tho he calls himself a blues singer, this is a performer who could rank among the best pop vocalists. I really liked "Metropolitan Blue" and several of the R and B cuts, they remind me of a James Brown style. But "Can't Stop My Heart" is the best song here, a joyous tale of missing your lady and knowing you'll soon be coming home. Class act."
