CD ReviewsUnique sound. 02/14/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "I admit that there's a lot of sentimentality in my five-star rating, but this is still a favorite of mine over thirty years later.Groove's first two albums on Prestige, "Soul Message" and "Living Soul", were both better than this, but both had a Jimmy Smith trio sound to them.Groove experimented with a new sound on this album, featuring staccato locked chords and cascading minor riffs.Too hard core for the casual funk fan, this is straight ahead jazz on standards of the day."
