REAL HIP HOP FOR REAL HIP HOP HEADS!

"Better than Blue Collar! Rhymefest really goes in on this one. Dope Rhymes, dope beats, dope collabos, what more could ya'll want? Rock solid effort!!!"
Not bad, but I expected more.

"I waited for this album for almost 4 years, and I found myself a little disappointed. It's not bad, but I think Fess takes himself a bit too seriously (a person of interest to the CIA? Revolutionary? Really?) or pushes a gag a little too far. There are a few dope tracks that really stand out, but the R&B-heavy tracks with a lot of vocals fall flat and push this album too far away from the hip hop flavor that makes Che great. I hate saying that it lacks some "real" hip hop... but there's no better way to say it. Too many of the tracks seem like they were made for the radio.

All in all, the album's biggest flaw is that it fails to meet the high expectations that Rhymefest himself set, and has been setting with freebies like Man in the Mirror and Dangerous:5-18 (both of which are far better than El Che). I bought it, I like it, but it's at the bottom of my Rhymefest pile. Even with it's flaws, though, it's still better than 90% of the hip hop out there right now."
