"This is a livey CD from a old-school song-writer, harmonica-player and vocalist. Dan has a very strong soleful voice and great harmonica playing that drives this CD. His backup band is good and never overpowers Dans lead, making for some of the best "Old-School, Gospel/Country/Delta blues I have heard."

"Absolutely wonderful recording of Rev. Dan Smith a few years before his death. Great Chicago blues music with a gospel message, comparable to Muddy Waters, but with a little more harmonica. Includes original songs interspersed with some personal testimony in his world-wise, gravelly voice. Personal favorites include the title track and "I've Never Been to Seminary, But I've Been to Calvary". One of the most enjoyable gospel blues albums available (and I own most of them). Recording quality is rough (recorded in his apt due to his failing health), and it is now hard to find, but worth the effort."
