CD Reviews

Maximum Lush!
John Balint | Santa Barbara, CA USA | 05/29/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Resonance now takes the place of Brian Eno and Harold Budd's "The Pearl" as my favorite ambient/synth album. Doucet and Miraz' playing complement each other beautifully. As anyone who has ever recorded synthesizer knows, the key to success is two-fold: First, the sounds themselves must be top-notch. There are a lot of cheezy synth patches in the world, and happily, none of them find their way onto this album. Secondly, since synthesizers are potentially cold and mechanical sounding, the PLAYING has to be expressive and sensitive. Again, Doucet and Miraz do not disappoint. My favorite track is the opening "Dancing Shadows" which features a haunting melody played on what I believe is a vintage Moog synthesizer, or a darn-good imitation thereof. As for the mood, I would say that in a word, Resonance is REASSURING. Although it definitely has all the best features of space music, for me, there is just enough melodic/harmonic content to keep me in my body, and ultimately, after a few tracks, I end up feeling like all is well after all. This one is staying in my rotation for a long time to come. I suggest you buy it. Listen to Resonance in the morning, and add a little bliss to your whole day."
A rarely achieved perfection in serenity - Michael Hoppé
Tajalli Moonstar | USA | 06/28/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"As Michael Hoppé (Grammy nominated artist) states this album is a great achievement in ambient music. It is healing, soothing, perfect for massage, Reiki and other purposes. Lloyd Barde from Backroads says: "The Music of RESONANCE takes on visual qualities and otherworldly realms with a grace and ease that is easy to be with, and can be revisited often." My personal experience is listening to RESONANCE gives me a feeling of peace and tranquility and the state of being One with the Universe."
Mediated state
E. Turturici | San Jose, CA | 12/21/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is my favorite ambient/synth album to massage with. If you are a massage therapist then you know that music can affect your client. Resonance will relax and put your clients in mediated state. This album will do that every time! Doucet and Miraz really complement each of very well. At times I can't even tell who is playing. It's like both of their playing just melts together as one. If you like ambient music then you must buy Resonance."
