Rene Berg set out to bring a softer edge into metal, with a pop take supplemented by driving guitar, bass and drum play. There is an excellent mix. Rene drove his voice to several reaches. The guitars swoop and soar. The excellent bass by Paul Gray thunders and gyrates supported by the solid time perfect drumming of Rat Scabies. The delightful Bernie Torme tears leaping sounds from his guitar on several tracks. If you go to a party and find that the music is crap or the whole scene boring. Stick this album on your portable and let Rene do it for you with his songs of pain love, humour and courage to overcome bad places. There is a whole range of influences at work here and the mixing is so good that you find new areas of sound each time you put it on. It grows on you so play it relentlessly, loudly, (on headphones)I guarantee you will not be let down."
