Subject: I have found a CD that I think you would enjoy
One of the best in the Sittelle series

""Jungles of Borneo" is one of the best of the many CDs of environmental sounds produced by the Sittelle label, founded by French nature sound recordist Jean C. Roche. The soundscape of Southeast Asia is truly exotic to western ears, perhaps even more so than that of the Amazon. This may be because the sounds of tropical Asia are less familiar to us; even sounds from the Amazon end up in the background of lots movies and TV shows, but the sounds captured here take listeners to the far side of the natural soundscape. This is evident from the very start of the disc, as the eerie but oddly musical calls of gibbons preside over a myriad of jungle bird calls. Indeed, the gibbon is the signature sound of the southeast Asian jungles; listen for it elsewhere on the CD as well. From evening frog and insect choruses to the monotonous calls of barbets emanating from somewhere in the forest canopy, this disc takes the listener to places whose sounds convey jaw-dropping beauty and strange allure. This was one of the first Sittelle discs I obtained, and I highly recommend it. If you enjoy this, you will undoubtedly want to hear more sounds from this exotic world."
