CD Reviews

Relativez 4th album is another good one
G$ | B-More, MD | 02/02/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Almost 2 years since their last album (although it's more like a mixtape as I recognize about two thirds of teh beats) the Relativez are back. I have 4 of their albums and one mixtape (as well as the Young Soldierz album) and this is the 3rd best of them. With 14 songs, you get 1 almost classic, 1 I skip, 3 ok ones, and the other 9 are good, a few being real good. Like most their albums, you get some tales of hustling, pimpin and a blood anthem or 2 with a few more personal songs thrown in. Production or guest credits aren't given but for 1 song. A must ahve for fans of real west coast rap and from a group goin into their 14th year in rap.

#2 - 8 (f/ Big Head - uses a newer Warren G beat from 2005)

#3 - 7 (f/ Kokane -- also on their "Money Respect Money" album)

#4 - 9 (f/ Big Rat -- tight beat)

#5 - 9.5 (tight upbeat song)

#6 - 8 (old Scarface beat from 1997)

#7 - 5 (f/ ??)

#8 - 8.5 (deep song -- f/ 6 feet Deep)

#9 - 8.5 (uses newer Jay Z beat from 2005)

#10 - 9 (uses G-Unit beat from 2004)

#11 - 7 (use 50 Cent beat from 2005 - suga Buga recyles a nice verse from their 2002 album)

#12 - 8 (deep song f/ Disko boogie)

#13 - 8.5 (deep song using Beanie Sigel beat from around 2005)

#14 - 6.5

#15 - 8 (use old Kurupt & Snoop beat form around 1996)
