Great Swedish Melodic Rock

"I've just about decided that along with Zoom Club, MTM Classix is the best label around when it comes to bringing forgotten hard rock gems back into the light. Case in point: the 1994 self-titled debut (and only) album by Swedish melodic rockers Reckless.
Sweden was producing a fair amount of quality melodic rock acts at the time (Alien, Treat, and of course Europe come to mind), so it was inevitable that a few bands fell through the cracks. Reckless was one such band. Their brand of melodic rock had all of the bases covered - big guitar hooks, catchy choruses, nice use of keyboards, power ballads - and should have gone over quite well in their home country, if not in the US, where grunge had already taken hold. Had it been released 2-3 years earlier, it probably would have been a hit. Instead, it went largely unnoticed and was quickly forgotten.
Fortunately MTM Classix was able to give the album a second chance a decade after its original release date (I doubt I'd have ever heard it otherwise). Not only did they give the album a digital remastering, they added 3 bonus tracks for good measure. The result is a revitalized album that should please fans of melodic rock in general and Swedish melodic rock in particular.

"now this record is special from maddens brilliant but edgy guitar playing to the superb quality of the songs an absolute must for any rock fan !! the vocals are by jan mendelson and are not too
dissimilar to blondies debbie harry which gives a unique feel
to the songs . the production is excellent thanks to paul gross of saga fame !!"
