CD Reviews

A solid final album from our favorite 'Rebeldes'

"RBD may have broken up, but they're certainly never be forgotten. PODM is a fun, upbeat album covering lots of musical styles. Perfect for a first time RBD fan, but longtime fans will love this too! Even if you dislike RBD, it's impossible not to fall in love with at least one track on this album.

1. Camiño al Sol- A nice start to the album. Dulce sings and sounds nice in this song. However, the lalala at the end is a little annoying. 3/5

2.Mirame- A nice slow, yet somewhat upbeat tune. 3/5

3.Para Olvidarte De Mi- This wouldn't have really been my choice for a first single. It's an okay song, but I've heard better. 3/5

4.¿Quién Te Crees?- The girls take the vocals on this track and do a good job. It's a nice mid tiempo song with a really catchy chrous. 4/5

5. Esté Donde Esté- A good group song with a fun 80s like beat. Would have made a good single. Maite and Anahi sound great on this one. 5/5

6. Más Tuya Que Mía-Not a terrible song, but it's not really my favorite either. Kinda slow. Nice beat. 3/5

7. Hace un Instante- A nice sweet ballad, though I can't help but hear comparisions to a Kudai song called 'Nada Es Igual'' and personally, I like Kudai's song better. 2.5/5

8. Desapareció- Anahi's vocals soar beautifully on this one. It's a solo song and she absolutely kills it! Would love to see her sing this live. Def. her best work. 5/5

9.Olvidar- Another great group song. Poncho's little solo at the bridge is adorable! 5/5

10. Yo Vivo por Ti- The chrous is really catchy on this on. Another good song. 4/5

11. Lágrimas Perdidas- Another Dulce track. I didn't care too much for this one. The music is nice but I've heard Dulce do better. 3/5

12. Puedes Ver Pero No Tocar- THIS IS THE BEST SONG RBD HAS EVER DONE!!!!!! Where do I start?I literally smiled the first time I heard this. It's so fun and upbeat and will bring you out of a bad mood instantly. A great 80s club dance beat. Amazing chrous and vocals. Very different style from the other songs on this album. Put on your dancing shoes and turn it up! You must have this one on repeat! 5/5

13. Adios- Grab your tissues, this one will make you cry. It's the group's goodbye song and it hits hard when you realize that the group is over. Longtime fans will love this one. It makes you remember the good 'ol days. 4/5

Overall, solid vocals everyone did amazingly. RBD may be over, but fans will never forget them! Overall rating 4.5/5. Some bumps along the way, but other than that, a very good final album!"
The best RBD album!

"That's basically it... The best RBD album to date! That's basically my opinion and I've been a strong fan of RBD almost since day 1. I have all their albums, DVD's and the 'novela' season sets. Why do I say it's the best? For many reasons... Everyone of their albums, I gotta say, are EXCELLENT, but this one just EXCELS, maybe because it's the last one and they really put their heart in it.

WHAT I LIKED

=========

1. The album is mostly heartmoving ballads, but oh what ballads are they! They really payed attention to the incredible lyrics this time and they made an excellent choice with every song. For starters, every lyric of every song in this album will make your soul move in some way. The album also features some great upbeat and fun-sounding electro-pop songs. Really, you get a bit of everything with this album. RBD really wanted to go out with style!

2. The quality of the music is SUPERB. Every melody in each song just gels and flows in a neat way. The producers went the extra mile with the sound, very pop, very fun, it makes you wanna start dancing and at the same time it makes you think in the meaning of the beautiful lyrics. Great work!

3. Each one of the band members sound great in this album. You can even hear a noteworthy improvement in some of them (not that any of them were bad singers in the first place.) But I gotta say I heard an improvement, especially from Maite and Christopher, who in previous albums sang a bit less. Both of them sound better than ever and sing more than in previous albums. They even get a song for just the two of them, 'Mírame', which is actually pretty good. Maite and Christopher make a nice duo, i must say, too bad they didn't use them to their full potential in previous albums. So, moving along, Dulce sings enchantingly as always, Christian does too (although he is far less felt than in previous albums in my opinion, even though he sings at least a few words in every song). I think the same goes for Alfonso, who really sounds his best in the heart wrenching but at the same time uplifting goodbye song, 'Adiós'. And Anahí, well her voice here just blows my mind, especially in 'Desapareció'. Nuff' said.

4. The album art I think is really good, I really liked the design of the booklet and the colors and feel of it are just cozy, warm and friendly.

To me, this is the BEST EXPERIENCE a fan can get from an RBD album, the quality of the product is top-notch. I'm sure every fan will treasure this last album for a long time. Every album had a special something to it,REBELDE had a rebel-punk kinda feel to it, NUESTRO AMOR was pop, rock, ballads, CELESTIAL was more pop, REBELS was had a kind of urban feel to it and EMPEZAR DESDE CERO was more soft and emotional. But PARA OLVIDARTE DE MI, I feel has a spark or feeling to it that just gets to me. It's a different kinda energy, maybe a sad one but at the same time fun and uplifting... But it's great.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

=============

I do have to say that I would've made some minor additions that would've made this album even better (although it's almost as PERFECT as it can get). This album was made in a short and tight schedule after all, even the band members had to record their parts at different times.

1. I would've included the lyrics to the songs in the booklet (something I often complain about in Britney Spears albums). I don't know why they left them out in this one, especially since the lyrics where included in all of their albums and the lyrics of the songs I think are among the very best of RBD's career.

2. I think they could've included at least another picture of the band together (besides the cover). Now that they separated we wanna see them together. I think another group picture would've been memorable and necessary, but oh well. They do include a page for every band member individually saying their thank you's (but it's just 1 picture!)I think an extra effort in this department would've been the cherry on top of the sundae.

3. One last song of just the boys. That's not here and it would've been great. The boys for some reason sound a bit less I think than in previous albums, although I'm not quite so sure about this, since they DO sing small parts in every song and Christopher even gets a duo with Maite for himself. Oh well.

I think that pretty much covers the few additions I would've made, but remember I am recommending this album to anyone 100%.

SONG REVIEWS

This is the rating list for every song. I hope it gives you and idea of what to expect.

1. CAMINO AL SOL - Perfect start. An upbeat and fun ballad with a very uplifting message. The music is great and so are the performances by Dulce, Poncho, Anahí and Christian. One of my personal faves of the album. 10/10

2. MIRAME - A rock ballad performed by Christopher and Maite. A very good combination and their singing is better than ever. This song proves they could've had an even bigger presence in previous albums. 9/10

3. PARA OLVIDARTE DE MI - The album's title song. A great performance by everyone in the group. They really tear your heart apart when they sing the chorus in this glowing farewell ballad. 10/10

4. ¿QUIEN TE CREES? - A great pop song by the girls. The girls sound amazing here, especially Maite who gives a very good performance, her singing has never been better. Another of my favorites. 10/10

5. ESTE DONDE ESTE - Another great pop song, sung very well by the girls and the boys in the chorus. 10/10

6. MAS TUYA QUE MIA - I think this song is special. First, it was written by Dulce and the lyrics are really beautiful, one of the best. The girls sing this one too and do a great job, Dulce excels. It's kinda like an upbeat pop ballad with really touching lyrics. Excellent work Dulce! 10/10

7. HACE UN INSTANTE - A precious ballad sung by all members. What really makes me love this beautiful romantic song is a verse sung by Anahí and Alfonso, everyone's favorite couple in RBD. They always proved to deliver beautiful small duets when they sung together, and they really complement each other vocally. It makes me tear up that this is the last time I'll hear them sing an enchanting verse together by themselves. 10/10

8. DESAPARECIO - A very good song. Anahi really excels in this song vocally. In the last part you can hear her belt out some really high notes that I think are really hard to deliver, but she nails it 100%. A beautiful song impressively performed by Anahí. 9/10

9. OLVIDAR - Good song. Out of all in the album, I feel the less for this one, even though they sing it with style and I really enjoy a small part where Poncho sings. Overall, 7/10

10. YO VIVO POR TI - A very upbeat song performed really well by all the girls. I really like the bounce and rhythm in this one, which really lifts you up and, again, the lyrics are beautiful, top-notch. One of my faves. 10/10

11. LAGRIMAS PERDIDAS - A great song composed and performed by Dulce Maria. Beautiful lyrics. Really great song but I personally like 'Mas Tuya Que Mia'. But again, excellent work, Dulce! 8/10

12. PUEDES VER PERO NO TOCAR - This is one of the best. A strutting electro-pop song. Very energized and fun, one of their very best in terms of dance songs. I would've like to hear more of this along of with the rest of the jewels in this album, but they would've had to made like 20 tracks. Anyway, you'll love it right away. Another song where every member gets a part and its always great to hear the six of them together. Poncho and Christopher are heared the most in this song, and they deliver. 10/10.

13. ADIOS - Take out your tissues, this song will leave you in tears. Interestingly, it sounds pretty upbeat to be a sad farewell song, so it makes it special. Everyone has their own part in this sad goodbye and they really performed from their hearts. They sound great and the music is really good. Really the lyrics is what will make you teary eyed and the thought that you'll never hear this amazing group again. Oh... I think the song may be the very best in the album, you end up satisfied hearing it and makes you think of what made RBD so great for the last five years. To me is one of the best. I feel happy hearing it, sad at the same time, satisfied, motivated... just a big bag of lovely emotions. Songs that make you feel like that are just special, and RBD's last one is just perfect. A perfect goodbye. You'll treasure this musical piece for a long time. 11/10

Buy this album if you're a fan, (YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT), and if you're not, do yourself a favor and buy this. A beautiful album with great songs that'll make you appreciate RBD as a musical group and also make you feel really satisified after hearing it. A MASTERPIECE! THE BEST RBD ALBUM EVER!"
Good. Bye.

"RBD made a big splash. Turned it into a wave, And then with all things slowly faded out.

The good news for fans: The last goodbye, is indeed good.

The album's sound is a bit of a mix of "Empezar Desde Cero" and "Celestial" and while those are looked a bit down on my many fans I'd urge anyone to give it a fair chance. While the lack of a high energy song is very much a let down, it isn't the soft and slow ballad expo that EPC was. Tracks like "Camino al Sol" and "Yo Vivo Por Ti" are able to pick you up but never get your feet of the ground, while the ballad side isn't anything to remember when compared to "Este Corazón" and the like.

And while that sounds like I'm trashing the album, in the end I really liked some of the tracks, that are becoming some of my favorite songs of RBD ("Mírame" and others I've listed.)

Its a good album. Its a slow album. If you can live with that, its a good slow album."
