"I was kind of P.O.ed when I opened up this cd and found out there was a dvd available. I mean, why waste my money on sound only when I can have the visuals, too? Here's why: The dvd is of a 2002 murder mystery movie, "Love Her Madly," that Manzarek co-wrote, directed, scored and appeared in. It's not bad for a lower-to-mid-budget movie. I bought it and rather enjoyed it, especially the twist ending. But this cd is not a simple soundtrack album. It's better than the movie. It's three years newer than the movie. It's the Doors gone electronica. Robby Krieger plays some very tasteful jazz guitar on a few of the cuts. Some of the music in the movie is not on this cd, and that's good; it's not missed. Only the best stuff made it to the cd, and you hear the whole song rather than the choice excerpts made necessary by movie editing and budgetary concerns. If I had to choose between the dvd and the cd, I'd take the cd in a heartbeat, no thought required. It's excellent."
