CD Reviews

Italian HC legends '00 release is yet another killer....

(5 out of 5 stars)

"You'd think after being a band for almost 20 years(at this point), the ideas for new songs would start to dry up and you'd find yourself repeating or regurgitating old things over and over, but Raw Power keep coming up with original enough riffs and songs to keep even the most minor fan interested, which can't be said for even the more popular bands of their ilk(Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Discharge to name a few bands who I thought kinda lost their spark after 2nd or 3rd album, although Discharge got it back in '02 with their self-titled cd). The album opens with the powerful Feed Them Grazioli, a lyrically interesting song due to the references to Bill(Toxic Shock/Ranch owner), and blisters through 16 tracks of solid, tight hardcore. The cover of Circle Jerks' Behind The Door is great, and every other song is killer too, so go and get this quick, before it too becomes hard to find, like so many of their other releases. TRUE actual real hardcore music for the new millenium, not that watered down radio/MTV punk you get to hear now(hear that Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, and the rest of you people who think that think those bands are anywhere near what punk was supposed to be about when it started. But enough of that, just go and get this and play it loud. Don't ask questions, just go..."
