Musical Regeneration

(5 out of 5 stars)

""Urban Regeneration" is this bands first album and has had me hooked for a couple of months now. They're all remarkably young for the maturity of their belief inherent in their lyrics. They probably all grew up listening to the great founders of reggae, such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Horace Andy, Burning Spear, Johnny Clarke, The Heptones etc.Their music is entirely innovative and creative and when it hits you, you feel no pain. It is indeed a great blend of roots and hip-hop, their track, "crazy lazy" is a entirely new concept of musical genius. It is so positive to hear their rastafari belief shine through, having all had a background from North London, not Jamaica. Rasta man Live Up!Let's hope this band continue to produce and spread the peace, love and unity in our community that they so desire. Let's hope for more publication and some awesome live shows soon!"

"This album is amazing. The Rasites are four young Rasta lads from London who mean what the say. Original in today's stale musical climate, this album mixes roots reggae with a little hip hop and r'n'b. The outcome is quite sublime. This band are young and show plenty of potential and could start a new wave of reggae. Now they just need some live dates. Jah Rastafari!!!"
