CALI HIP HOPPER | THA BAY | 07/24/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Once again these guys put forth a tremendous album, straight up hardcore, underground, bass heavy music. lets face it it takes three factors to have a good hip hop album....lyrics, production, guest spots and cohesiveness. some might disagree with that, but its just my opinion....these guys have awesome production: the bass knocks hard, the vocals easily heard, all the instruments are heard clearly and concisely, the samples are retrofitted for the beats, very well constructed, nothing falls off. as far as lyrics go these guys know what they're doing, everything you hear is pretty much battle rap style, i feel they're really is no need for hooks with this kind of album, the hooks on a couple of songs weren't very memorable and kind of took away from the fast paced wordplay. the first album they dropped is a straght classic, there isn't a single song in there i would bump in my car at any time, no matter what mood i'm in, this one isn't too different, pure fire from start to finish. the collaborations were definetly great also, lyrically these guys are good but when they're side by side with bigger talent like : vinnie paz, outerspace, kool g rap their talent tends to get a little bit dwarfed. but none the less they have put forth a great album...my favorite part of the album is the fact there isn't any fake r+b hooks or slow gay a$$ beats, they set the mood from the begining and it flows on through the end. i 'm impressed and because their first 2 releases were soooo solid i'm waiting for the next one to drop, but i will be listening to this one and their first album until then. don't wait on this one.
