Ralph Marterie was one of the survivors of the big band era. His previous band affiliations were with Paul Whiteman and Percy Faith. This low priced two CD set features his band performing in a set of eight separate fifteen minute Let's Go Town shows which were broadcast in the 1950s to promote recruitment to the US National Guard. The first four programs feature popular vocalist Joni James and the second set of four feature the also popular Joan Weber.
