CD Reviews

Goes well with a bottle of wine and soft lighting!

"Found on Quincy Jones's 1989 release "Back on the Block", "The Secret Garden" boasted the combined vocal talents of Al B. Sure!, James Ingram, El Debarge, and the late Barry White. Co-written by Jones, Debarge, Rod Temperton, and Siedah Garrett, the song is an explosion of musical eroticism, with the vocals harmoniously blending with the seductive instrumentation. This five-song CD-single features an exquisite sax solo version that, if played when one is trying to be as romantic as possible, should yield the desired results.Track listings1. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite) Part I (4:23)
2. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite) Part II (4:23)
3. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite Complete) (6:38)
4. Sax in the Garden (Jazzy Instrumental Version) (6:38)
Kirk Whalum does the honors!
5. The Erotic Garden (After Hours Version) 8:54
Barry gets to "rap" as only he can!"

"A hot quiet stormer by Quincy Jones with guest artists Al B. Sure, James Ingram, El DeBarge and Barry White. Features 5 versions. The first two are just edited versions featuring the different artists' parts alternately while the third track is the whole song. Then there is a jazzy instrumental and an extended remix version called Erotic Garden. All versions are geared for the bedroom!

Track listings:
1. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite) Part I (4:23) a short version with Al B. Sure and James Ingram
2. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite) Part II (4:23) a different short version with El DeBarge and Barr White
3. The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite Complete) (6:38) the full album version with all the artists mentioned in the above 2 versions.

"Speaking as a woman, if James Ingram, Al B. Sure & El DeBarge aren't enough...Then LOOK OUT...GRAND SLAM...BARRY WHITE. With a deep, throaty, sensual, sexual voice that practically drips honey...or gold...women will peel off their clothes with or without alcoholic enhancement. If ever there was a man that sang all the right words in the sexiest voice imaginable then Barry White was & still is the man...And if you're in that frame of mind then I would highly recommend Barry White's "The Man is Back" CD...From "When Will I See You Again" to "Goodnight My Love" is a sexual dance put to music! Also get SADE--Greatest hits or any CD of hers for that matter-- She's a female version of Barry! Gives me goose bumps! The only thing that I can imagine that would have been better than anything Barry or Sade could have done solo was if they had done a duet with Kenny G playing & Quincy Jones producing! What an incredible loss to the music world and all his fans--Thanks for the gift Barry White!"
