"The reason I went to see Quicksilver back in the day was to see John Cippollina play, and that's the same reason I've had this studio album in every format it's been released on. The rest of the musicians are OK, the vocals weak, but John Cippollina's talent was on an entirely different level and very little of his work was recorded. The strongest lyrics here are on Hamilton Camp's old folk song "Pride Of Man," but the best QMS moments for me were always instrumental. Dino Valenti was in jail and did not appear on this recording which gets it an extra half star from me. There were better bands overall around back then but John Cippollina didn't play in any of them. This was a great band live so of course their label never bothered to put out a live recording. I still listen to it a couple times a year after 40yrs which can't be said of many other recordings of the period."
