CD Reviews

Super!
Homeboy | Toronto, Canada | 08/14/2001

"This is a great great album, and I cannot begin to tell all you kids out there how much I love this album. I bought it super cheap at a Slow Gherkin show in Omaha, and when I got home I put it in the CD player and loved it right away. Fly, yo...It's great how they mix music--this is music for emo kids, ska kids, punk rockers or even just people who like music and don't care about what kind it is. Very fly!"
Something Ventured...Gained

"I've followed Pushover since their Mealticket days and I must admit that their latest sound should "push" them over the wall. Their lyrics are homewritten and are obviously filled by life's experiences. My favorite track is #13, Home...What a thrill to hear sounds that take me back to my youth. The lead track "Tell Me Why" is a sure-fire way to get this CD started...the boys seem to have scaled back on the Ska-styled horns and their background electronics grab the listener and won't let go...Keep a close ear to "Go Boy, Logic and Loss, and Radio my Life" and experience the feeling. Lead singer's voice on the edge, he brings life to the songs, this band's breakthrough is SOON!...this is the only soundtrack that I can actually enjoy with my kids!!!!"

"This album never left my CD player for the first 2 months I had it! The energy in the singer's voice and the intelligent lyrics gave me chills. Pushover definately has a rockin' style all there own! 2 thumbs way up!"
