CD Reviews

Mr.Daniele is still playing his struments
Giuseppe Andrea Liberti | 08/29/2005

"An italian boy like me MUST know Pino Daniele,a singer from Naples (my city,my love).Pino is famous for his napolitan slang song, full of emotions, and his italian songs, that have got sensations and a kind of love for the music. With his jazz-blues have conquered our hearts, and in 2004 he comes back with this LP called "Passi D'Autore".Beautiful songs, like the single "Pigro",a song dedicated to all the lazy people. This is a perfect mix of romantic words and guitar, and the hook is beautiful ("I Need Youuu..I Need Yoouuu...").That sounds like old Daniele, when songs was in napolitan slang. We listen also the dedication to Maradona, yes, the football champion,in "Tango Della Buena Suerte".We listen an ultraromantic Pino also in "Bella Da Vivere",song with blues points.

Pino Daniele stikes back with his consuete beautiful album.Italy is shining..."
Memories of Italy

"We first heard Pino Daniele in 2002 in Erice, Sicily. His CD "Medina" quickly became the anthem of our family's 3 month stay. We wore grooves into the CD, and were disappointed to find that Pino Daniele's music was not available in the US. Until I discovered it was, through Amazon. Passi D'Autore is more "pop" than Medina, with less of the interesting Middle Eastern overtones. But his lush arrangements and vocals, and just the melodic sound of his Italian words, bring back great memories of Italy."
