CD Reviews

Great sounds from colorado
The Ricker | Oakland, CA. United States | 09/28/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This Colorado band has got the chops, full speed ahead. These guys are fast, chock full of punk rock. Bands like Kid dynamite and dillinger four come to mind but to be honest these guys have their own sound and it sounds refreshing to hear these guys tear it up song after song. Best tracks:"say goodnight", "asking for a beating","jack knife powerbomb"."
Thanks to the dude who made that list.

"I was reading a listmania here on Amazon.com, when I came across Pinhead Circus. I have never heard of them before and I think the statement "check em out, you won't be disappointed" or something like that was under this cd. I was listening to a lot of old strung out and Lawrence arms at the time (they still get heavy rotation a year or two later too) and was really in the mood for straight forward kick ass punk rock. Without hearing it I picked it up (it was only like $2.50). Straight forward punk rock I was looking for and straight forward punk rock I got. This cd is dope (dope is what all the cool hipsters are saying nowadays). It's skate punk with a hint of pop and hardcore, if thats possible. The vocals are griddy and almost sound like D4 or Brendan Kelly from the Lawrence arms or Slapstick if you prefer that. Some of out standing tracks are 'say goodnight' and 'hallmark'. The only complaint I have about this album is songs 6, 7, 8, and 9 are pretty stale and make the album monotonous. Nonetheless, Pinhead Circus is a great band and unfortunately they are no more, but they left us with three really good albums and a bunch of other crap that kicks ass. Pick this album up, look how much it is used. How could you pass on that? I mean come on.

F*ck fall out boy."
