One of Latin America's greatest folk singers

"Piero is without a doubt one of the greatest folk singers in Latin America. He is immensly popular in Colombia and for good reason. "Como Amor, Ojala" is my favorite ballad. In this particular tune he sings of better days...of a world without homeless, hunger or war...he sings about a greater need for peace and for kindness. It is a wonderful melody that even English-speaking audiences rave about. Another Piero favorite is "Mi Viejo." A lovely tune about a father and son that is truly touching. However, Piero is most famous for his classic satire of Americans titled, "Los Americanos." This song put Piero in hot water with U.S. authorities because it was embraced by college students throughout Latin America. However, the song is harmless and merely pokes fun at obnoxious Americans. Overall, anyone who wants a flavor of Latin America's Bob Dylan should buy this CD. Piero is great and this collection of his work is a prize."
