"Mention Pia Zadora, and you still may get some snorts and snickers because of her spotted cinema career. But as many people have learned to their surprise, this lady can really belt out a song in the tradition of Judy Garland and Liza Minelli. I recently came across a music commentator who described this approach as the Vaudeville tradition. Whatever you want to call it, this is a fine collection of fifteen songs by the immortals such as Gershwin, Styne, Cahn, Ellington, Herman, and Rodgers and Hart. Backed up by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the great Robert Farnon (who did a simarly fine job on a Sinatra album), Ms. Zadora delivers one classic song after another. Albums like this aren't made anyomore; so I encourage you to get a copy before it is once again out of print."
