"Just as on each of his solo efforts, this album finds Phil Everly exploring the depths of his emotions and the heartbreak of broken relationships. As a woman, I find his love songs and ballads extraordinarily moving, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and full of meaning. There are references to happier moments, but one senses the pain and despair of lost love more than any other emotions. I find that the solo efforts allow Phil the opportunity to fully explore and express his unique emotions and experiences, rather than those that must be "voted" on in a duet situation (such as many of the work with Don). In this album, we hear and experience the essence of this unique and talented man--he becomes much more than half of an equasion."

"I think Phil Everly has made the perfect album. The songs are so beautiful, his voice so achingly smooth and strong. This is an album of quiet majesty. I got lost in the music. The songs never condescend even though they border on melodrama. Phil plays it straight and close to the heart and makes listening a very intimate experience. Not a clunker around. Highly overlooked gem. A classic."
