CD Reviews

Out Of This World Vocals and High Energy Dance Beats!

"This single by the German-produced and American-fronted group Pharao is probably their best release. Unfortunately, due to the fact this was available here in the states as an import at least six months before it was released domestically, most people who wanted a copy had already bought it. However, if you ever have a chance to pick up this single (or the self-titled CD, which I think is out of print), do so immediately. Kyra Pharao has an etheral soprano that will capture your soul and lift it, and this, in contrast with the happy eurodance/NRG beats and the dark, hip-hop themed rap by Deon Blue, combines for an amazing experience. The single version is much slower than the actual cut on the self-titled CD, but if you can't find the album, it will do nicely. Also, surprisingly, most of the mixes featured here are listenable, and do not have the annoying house beat that permeates many eurodance single remixes. If a song is house, it is house. If a song is eurodance, it is eurodance. Not many work both ways. It is a shame Columbia dropped Pharao after their self titled CD--the lead singer Kyra Pharao went on to record another more down-tempo CD without Deon Blue and with their long-time producer. It would have made a good addition to my CD collection, and this single will make an excellent addition to yours."

"The songs begins with a countdown...then kyra titles the song with her beautiful voice. The hip hop lyrics by deon blue is amazing. I bought the self titled album bout 3 yrs ago...this single is one of the best on the album...if u like eurodance/trance/rave whatever it is u like in that this is worth having it in your collection."
