"There is nothing like this record. It breaks every mold. It will challenge you. This record is not a bunch of songs, but rather an experience that no other musician has yet to match for me.
Peter will take you on a trip. You cannot just listen to one song here and a song there. This is meant to be enjoyed as one piece. In the modern world, where we are "song list" oriented, people with short attention spans don't stand a chance with this awesome record.
From the very moment he invites you into his home at the beginning, to the romantic moments, to scary moments and to political moments, all the way to his raunchy farewell, you will be taken on a personal journey. "Try To Remember To Forget" will speak to the lonely heart. "Neville Thumbcatch" is a catchy number. Peter's spoken pieces are dratmatic. "Rape" will make you uncomforatable, but it will also make you think. 'Hippy And The SkinHead', violent, funny and distrubing, takes no sides and paints life's ironic jokes.
This is a very personal record and it shows. You can tell what kind of lonely, manic, creative, brave and unique person Peter Wyngarde is. No celebrity or musician could make such a portrait in such a short record space. And as you listen again and again, this record will grow on you.
The sound design is very clever. This record and its concept are ahead of their time now that headphones have caught up to it. You feel like you are part of the Peter's strange world. Today's music may talk about the subjects mentioned in Mr. Wyngarde's record, but they all are crude and vulgar. This record still pushes the envelope, without being vulgar, and remains classy.
More albums should be made like this, where the artist takes time to put something together as a whole, not just dropping some songs together. I appluade Peter Wyngarde for having the chops to do something new and challenge popular music and raise the level. He was out to show that you can do more with audio entertainment besides just singing one song after another.
While this record is not for everyone, it's certainly most welcome to add a touch of bizarre class to any music collection.
This is my all time favortie record, as there is nothing like it. I notice something new everytime I listen to it."
