"Peter Kowald is an amazing double bassist working in the avant-Euro-improv area of creative music. Most of his music is on the FMP label which is difficult to find in record stores in the US. This CD is a must for anyone interested in creative music as Kowald joins an impressive list of new music innovators including Joëlle Léandre, Seizan Matsuda, Evan Parker, Diamanda Galas, Conrad Bauer, Tom Cora, Andrew Cyrille, Irène Schweizer, Akira Sakata, Masahiko Kono, Peter Brötzmann, Tadao Sawai, Derek Bailey, Floros Floridis, Han Bennink, Jeanne Lee, Keiki Midorikawa, Junko Handa, and Danny Davis. The duo format presents a clear approach to the music and the diverse players (joining with Kowald ) creates a sonic variety to keep the listener's attention throughout. Highly recommended!"
