CD Reviews

Fabulous Fingerpicking
Snifferhound | Skull Valley, Arizona United States | 08/19/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I own several of Pete Huttlinger's CDs and have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him perform live on several occasions; Up close and personal. Especially the smaller venues were all a real treat. I highly recommend his CDs as well as his instructional DVDs."
Could be the best fingerstylist
Nugent_Dirt | UK | 04/22/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I came across this while surfing around Steve Vai's 'Favored Nations' site and bought this blind on the strength of the superlative Tommy Emmanuel also being on the label. I stuck the CD in the player and was immediately blow away by the first track 'Brown bomber'. I'm not sure I've ever heard finger picking quite this fast. This is the only self composition with the others being interpretations of pop hits the best being 'Sir Duke' and the Jackon 5 number. As a fingerstylist Peter Huttlinger is right up there with Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed but could end up being the best of the lot. If 'Brown bomber' is anything to go by, I look forward to an album of self penned tunes."
Amazing Fingerstyle - Covers and Originals
Eric Pantano | Madison, WI United States | 02/21/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Peter Huttlinger is easily one of the best, and his amazing talent shines through on this CD. His cover of Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" is an amazing, funky arrangement, while ballads like "Fields of Gold" are lush and full. And all on one guitar.

Personally, I would have preferred he skipped the orchestra versions of three of the songs already on the album. While very pleasing, I would rather he had used the time for more solo acoustic arrangments.

Still, this is an awesome CD for any fan of fingerstyle guitar."
