"Whatever crackhead amazon has posting the samples mixed things up, not the first time. Go to cduniverse.com to hear the real samples to this ill CD.

Amazon Editor did a really wack job reviewing

"As an MC and part time producer I find the editor's review of this album disgraceful. "You never quite realize how monotonous and downright boring hip-hop tracks can be until you remove the lyrics and are subjected to four minutes of the same bars looping over and over." Are you serious? This guy is basically generalizing all hip-hop beats and we're supposed to trust his review of a hip-hop album? If you are not a hip-hop head what would you ever be doing buying a cd of instrumentals? This cd (like any cds of instrumentals) have their purpose and this happens to be a sick cd. Pete Rock is a legendary producer, one of the founders of modern hip-hop, any one will agree with this.Wang's suggestion that the beats are "simple sonic scores" is offensive. This guy is ridiculous, why would amazon ever have someone who seems to know nothing review and album like this? Get rid of this guy ...(Cake is a sick song)"
DEFINITELY A CLASSIC !!!

"I have been a Pete Rock fan since his days with CL Smooth. And hearing his solo album SOUL SURVIVOR in 1998 ressurected the life in Hip-Hop once again. But on PETESTRUMENTALS, Pete Rock shows you what he is really capable of. Really great bass lines, all sorts of horns on the background and kicking drum patterns are what makes up this classic brew of Hip-Hop. Yes, every track on this CD is great, which is very hard to find nowadays. STANDOUT tracks include : A LITTLE SOUL, SOMETHING FUNKY, PETES' JAZZ, THE BOSS, GIVE IT TO YA"LL, CAKE ( ft. The U.N. ), NOTHIN' LESSER ( ft. The U.N. ) and the two gems on this album which I can't take one over the other because they're so perfect, FOR THE PEOPLE and WHAT YOU WAITING FOR. PETESTRUMENTALS will leave the commercial rap fans sleepy with this release because of the lack of lyricist on the songs. But most of these instrumentals don't need a vocalist on the track simply cause it might ruin how great the beat is and leaving it as an instrumental will ensure its' longevity. PETESTRUMENTALS ( though an instrumental LP ) really beats the MTV, BET, radio rap thats out by far. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite Hip-Hop albums of all time. Pick this CD up fast cause you won't be disappointed. WARNING !!! FOR TRUE BEAT JUNKIES ONLY !!!"
