Synopsis

Product Description
For many years Penelope Torribio backed a Jimmie Rogers' impersonator, Otis Roy, The Pomona Blue Yodeler. It is little wonder that Watch Out! I'm Singing the Blues has the down home and real life feeling of the songs by the original Jimmie Rogers. In fact, Penelope has been called the female Jimmie Rogers and the American Edith Piaf for her ability to put real life into songs. The tradition of the blues is that it lifts people who are facing, often profound life problems, through singing about these problems. It is a strange fact that singing about problems often makes someone feel less alone, and that they will get through these challenging time. The theme of this album is that, basically, we don't have time for the blues. If we have problems we have to face them, do something and move on. If we don't then we spend our life. "walking in the shadows instead of dancing in the light." . Penelope is a past recipient of the vocalist of the year from the California Country Music Association and has performed both solo and with her band, Penelope and A Little Bit of Gold, throughout Southern California and Beyond. Penelope is part of the first compilation of the noted Females on Fires series. Penelope also writes and performs ecology albums with songs urging us all to become Guardians of the Earth and her "Headed for a Good Time," offers great traditional up-tempo country music.
