"Pedro Fernandez takes an unusually gentle approach to these classic songs by 20th Century Mexico's greatest Ranchera songwriter. This album is very well played, produced, and sung. Most singers (see Vicente Fernandez' outstanding CD tribute to Jimenez) belt these tunes out with much greater force, but Pedro's more introspective approach offers a new way of hearing these beloved songs of passion and heartbreak. The version of "Despacito" on the disc has become a huge radio hit. Although I prefer Vicente's macho style, Pedro's is more likely to have broad appeal."
